Latin 2H (Period 3): Today, we covered more review today and played a rousing game of Phase 10. We will use that game again, so hopefully you enjoyed it. Homework: 1) Study for the QUIZ! The quiz will cover:
1) parts of speech/Latin cases
2) the verb "esse"
3) the Latin declensions (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
4) present tense verb endings
5) Latin pronunciation
*These topics should be the focus of all your studying tonight!
Latin 1H (Period 4): Today, we reviewed our discussion on Latin pronunciation and began learning about vowels and diphthongs, as well as syllables. Homework: 1) Complete the "Latin Pronunciation" worksheet, but only focus on selecting the English word that has the same sound as the underlined portion of the Latin word and breaking the word into syllables. DO NOT worry about the accent marks yet-- we will cover that tomorrow! 2) Start thinking about the QUIZ next MONDAY.
Latin 1 (Period 6): Today, we reviewed our Latin pronunciation and corrected the worksheet from last night's homework. We then had a quick discussion about parts of speech (in English) and their equivalents in Latin (the cases). We will continue this discussion Friday when we review. Homework: 1) On the worksheet from last night, be sure to look at each word and break it up into syllables, marking where the accent goes. 2) Start studying for the QUIZ on MONDAY.
Latin 1H (Period 7): We did not meet today. Homework: 1) Start thinking about the QUIZ next MONDAY. 2) Review our discussion on pronunciation-- we will finish it tomorrow.
