Mr. Caccavale's Latin Website

September 10th, 2013

9/10/2013

Latin IAcc (Period 1): Today you did quick presentations on the Etruscan artifact you studied for HW. Then, we did a group activity in which we read and learned about the Roman Republic, the Roman Empire, Famous Romans, and the Destruction of Pompeii. Finally, we ended with a quick video about Pompeii and got to see the face of a Roman woman. Homework: 1) Make sure your packet from today's class is complete. 2) Start studying for our first quiz which is THIS FRIDAY (9/13). The quiz will include today's packet/lesson, and last week's classes (the intro w/firedrill) and our packet on the founding of Rome.

Latin 2H (Period 3): Today, we reviewed your HW and started reviewing the concepts from last year. We need a little work, but we'll get there! We also played a quick basketball review game (not such a great success--my fault. They'll get better as we go). Homework: Keep reviewing/studying. Review/Study Ch. 4-7 of Ecce Romani. Take notes and mark where you are struggling/what you need to work on. Complete exercises 1a, 1b, and 1c on p. 49 of Ecce Romani.

Latin 1H (Period 4): We watched some videos on the founding of Rome and their ancestors, the Etruscans. As we watched, we completed a worksheet in groups. Homework: Start reviewing for the Quiz on FRIDAY. You should be reviewing the worksheet from today, as well as those from last week's classes. Everything is fair game, but focus on the questions I asked you.

Latin 1H (Period 6): We did not meet today. Keep studying as our first quiz is MONDAY (9/16).

Latin 1H (Period 7): Today, we did a group activity in which we read and learned about the Roman Republic, the Roman Empire, Famous Romans, and the Destruction of Pompeii. Then, we ended with a quick video about Pompeii and got to see the face of a Roman woman and man. Homework: 1) Make sure your packet from today's class is complete. 2) Start studying for our first quiz which is MONDAY  (9/16). The quiz will include today's packet/lesson, and last week's classes (the intro w/firedrill) and our packet on the founding of Rome.
